Waiver Wire—Week 7

Alex Delton, QB-Kansas State
Delton took over at quarterback after starter Jesse Ertz was injured a couple of weeks ago.  This past Saturday, Delton struggled against TCU, completing only 11-of-29 passes for 146 yards and rushing for 39 yards on 19 attempts.  Even though Delton struggles as a passer, he can do some damage on the ground, as we witnessed two weeks ago when he ran for 79 yards and two touchdowns against Texas.

Karan Higdon, RB-Michigan
Going into Week 7, Higdon had a total of 201 rushing yards on the season.  In Saturday’s win over Indiana, Higdon rushed for 200 yards and three touchdowns, and now he offers hope for fantasy owners in need of depth at the running back position.

Ian Eriksen, RB-Eastern Michigan
Teammate Shaq Van has missed two of the past three games, while Eriksen has carried the ball at least 18 times in two of the past three games.  Until more is known about Vann’s absence, Eriksen should be added and could be a nice late-season addition in MAC play.

Jason Huntley, RB-New Mexico State
Huntley is another interesting waiver addition because Larry Rose missed this past week’s game with a knee injury.  You may not get much service time from Huntley, but if you are an owner of Rose, he would be a wise insurance addition.

AJ Dillon, RB-Boston College
If you have the Exclusive Email, you were tipped off to Dillon weeks ago, and there is a good chance that the freshman back is already on a roster in conference-specific or P5 leagues.  However, Dillon is likely available in many Full-FBS leagues, but that will change this week after his 272-yard rushing game against Louisville on Saturday.

Andrew Clair, RB-Bowling Green
In the past two games, Clair has rushed for 269 yards and two touchdowns.  Even though he has been splitting carries with Josh Cleveland, Clair has been the more effective of the two and could provide an added punch at the running back position down the stretch as the Falcons get into the heart of their conference schedule.

Ray Lawry, RB-Old Dominion
This is an obvious addition to the waiver wire, but there were probably quite a few owners that dumped Lawry after it was reported that he would likely miss the remainder of the 2017 season due to a hamstring injury.

Russell Gage, WR-LSU
Gage’s current role in the Tigers’ offense reminds us a little of Quadree Henderson’s role at Pitt in 2016 under OC Matt Canada.  Gage has certainly provided a spark to an offense that looked weak and was left for dead.

If you would like additional insight and analysis from the weekend, expanded player rankings at the end of the week, or to have your roster and lineup questions addressed, the 2017 Exclusive Email is for you.
