Need to fill some holes on the roster? Need roster depth? Check out this weeks’ Waiver Wire.
Davis Webb, QB-Texas Tech
Webb relieved starter Baker Mayfield for the second consecutive week and threw for 310 yards and two touchdowns. The Red Raiders have a bye next week, but do not be surprised if Webb gets his chance to start when Tech plays Kansas in Week 6.
Johnathan Gray, RB-Texas
After his 28-141-2 performance Saturday against Kansas State, it seems as if the Longhorns may have identified a lead back.
Savon Huggins, RB-Rutgers
Starting running back Paul James will miss at least the next three weeks with a leg injury and Huggins figures to be the next man up.
James Conner-RB, Pitt
Conner carried the ball 26 times for 173 yards and a touchdown Saturday against Duke. The powerful freshman back has topped 100 yards and scored in consecutive weeks.
Aaron Baltazar, RB-Boise State
Teammate Jay Ajayi is having ball-control issues and the freshman back closed strong in Friday night’s game at Fresno State by rushing for 92 yards and two touchdowns, while being used exclusively in the game’s final 22 minutes.
Dres Anderson, WR-Utah
Anderson caught eight passes for 141 yards at BYU Saturday night and has topped 100 yards in each of the Utes’ past three games.
Malcome Kennedy, WR-Texas A&M
Kennedy has at least six receptions in the past two weeks and looks like Manziel’s #2 target behind Mike Evans.
Jaelen Strong, WR-Arizona State
The sophomore receiver caught 12 passes for 168 yards and a touchdown Saturday against Stanford and has at least six receptions in all three games this season.
Tyler Boyd, WR-Pitt
The freshman receiver has established himself as a playmaker in the Panthers offense after back-to-back impressive weeks (6-134-1 in Week 3 and 8-154-3 in Week 4).
