We are approaching the home stretch and a familiar name has resurfaced on this week’s waiver wire report.
Kolton Browning, QB-LA Monroe
Browning was reportedly lost for the season after suffering a quad injury weeks ago and chances are pretty good that he is available in almost every league. After throwing for 224 yards and four touchdowns against Georgia State on Saturday, Browning will likely be the hottest waiver wire request of the week.
Desmond Roland, RB-Oklahoma State
Roland is undoubtedly on every fantasy owner’s radar after his 26-219-4 performance against Iowa State on Saturday. Hopefully, for those lucky enough to land the junior running back, Roland will turn into the long-term answer at running back for the Cowboys.
Kareem Hunt, RB-Toledo
We listed Hunt last week when there was uncertainty about David Fluellen’s back injury. Fluellen started against Bowling Green, but he left early in the first quarter with another injury. Hunt may be a Top 15 running back in Week 10 against Eastern Michigan if Fluellen is unable to play.
Malcolm Brown, RB-Texas
Just when we thought that Johnathan Gray had nailed down the workhorse role in the Longhorns offense, Brown has made a case to split carries. In the past two games, Brown has carried the ball 40 times for 171 yards and two touchdowns.
Bill Belton, RB-Penn State
Belton has surpassed Zach Zwinak as Penn State’s lead back, as the junior running back has carried the ball 49 times in the past two games.
David Cobb, RB-Minnesota
Cobb is the third consecutive running back listed that may not be setting the world on fire, but is receiving the amount of carries that make him hard to ignore. In Minnesota’s past two games, Cobb has carried the ball 51 times for 241 yards and should provide depth in deeper leagues.
Keenan Holman, WR-SMU
After catching 10 passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns against Temple on Saturday, Holman has topped 100 yards in back-to-back weeks and has caught a touchdown in four of the Mustangs past five games.
Ezell Ruffin, WR-San Diego State
Ruffin was listed in our Week 9 Emergency Starters and caught 10 passes for 181 yards against Fresno State this past weekend. Ruffin has now caught at least 100 yards in three of the Aztecs past four games.
