Waiver Wire—Week 3

Jarrod Heard, QB-Texas
We understand that Heard’s performance (20/31-364 passing, 24-163-3 rushing) on Saturday was against Cal, but if this one-week snapshot offers a glance of what’s to come, the freshman quarterback could be a viable option as a QB2 moving forward.
Chad Kelly, QB-Ole Miss
In full-FBS formats there is a chance that Kelly may still be available because we couldn’t put a lot of stock in his performances against Tennessee-Martin and Fresno State in Weeks 1 & 2, but when you do what he did in Tuscaloosa Saturday night, you become a waiver wire priority.

Adam Hine, RB-BYU
Hine has logged at least 19 carries in consecutive games and seems to be the feature back moving forward.

Jalen Richard, RB-Southern Miss
We were high on Ito Smith heading into the Golden Eagles’ matchup against Texas State and Richard was the guy that went off, running for 230 yards and four touchdowns Saturday night.  Given that type of upside, Richard is worthy of a roster spot heading into Week 4.

Devon Spalding, RB-Central Michigan
Spalding slipped to No.2 on the RB depth chart leading up to the season opener, but after his week 3 performance, the sophomore back may have cemented himself as the Chippewas’ lead back heading into MAC play.
Chris Swain, RB-Navy
Swain has rushed for at least 120 yards in Navy’s two games this season and with so much of the focus on quarterback Kennan Reynolds, the bruising senior back is worth a RB3 or FLEX option on a weekly basis.

Justin Silmon, RB-Kansas State
Silmon ran for 114 yards on 24 carries this past Saturday against Louisiana Tech and we are always intrigued when running backs get more than 20 carries in a game.  If you are ready to cut ties with some dead weight on your roster, Silmon may be worth a claim.
Casey Martin, WR-Southern Miss
Martin has caught at least five passes in each of the Golden Eagles’ first three games of 2015 and leads the team in receptions.  USM could find themselves in a number of high-scoring games this season in C-USA play.

Rashawn Scott, WR-Miami
Scott has reached the 100-yard mark in two of the Hurricanes’ first three games and is clearly QB Brad Kaaya’s favorite target.  Scott may be more of a FLEX option in full-FBS formats, but could be considered a WR2 or WR3 in Power 5 formats.

Penny Hart, WR-Georgia State
Hart has hauled in 20 passes for 278 yards and a touchdown over the past two weeks and will undoubtedly be the most coveted WR in this week's waiver pool if he is still available.

Dennis Parks, WR-Rice
Parks has caught eight passes in back-to-back games against Texas (8-77-0) and North Texas (8-163-2) and leads the team in receiving despite missing the season opener.
